Winter Wedding Style
Winter is such a magical time of year, and we are hoping for a White Christmas this year! In the meantime, we are in the final stages of planning our last two weddings of the year, and that is crazy surreal for us! What a whirlwind of a year! We are so grateful and so honoured to have played a small role in so many wonderful couple's lives over this past year.
2017 has been a year full of inventive, innovative and wonderful wedding style inspiration. We have seen the predominant force of geometric shapes taking charge, along with bold colours and patterns for both Brides and her girls. As we venture into the colder weather, we are seeing some awesome things on the horizon for Winter 2017, and just had to share!
Divine Dresses
It's not just everyday you have the opportunity to walk down the aisle, let alone walk down the aisle with a floor-length cape trailing behind you, in lieu of a veil. Princess Capes are in, and they are wonderful! The following gowns by Allison Webb, Idan Cohen and Berta are just three prime examples of this styling trend!
Another big trend for this season, that we believe will carry through well into the New Year, is the arrival of Detached Sleeves on gowns. When we first noticed this trend, we were a little surprised, but the romanticized whimsical detailing of it makes for such an incredible statement. Plus, it is a unique twist on the typical long-sleeved gown. The gowns below from Pronovias, Mark Zunino and Monique Lhuiller are some of our absolute favourites!
Bold Lipped
We love to see a Bride who tries something a little bolder on her wedding day. Wearing a deep lip colour is the perfect way to make a statement, and hone in on the cold weather out there! We love this deep lip captured by and finding a lip colour similar is easier than you think! We are currently obsessing over the Givenchy Le Rouge Lipstick found at Sephora, and the High Drama Retro Matte Lipcolour from Mac!
A Touch of Velvet
Velvet is BACK! This trend is one that is on a continuous cycle and it really is the perfect material for this season. From shoes to ribbons, velvet in all colours is something we adore. Another way of incorporating velvet into your winter wedding is through your groom and the groomsmen. Below you will find examples of both velvet bowties and jackets that are truly wonderful!
