She was also gracious enough to share tips for hair prep as you get ready for the Big Day!

A Few Quick Facts

Education: St. Clair College

Favourite Hair Trend: Balayage

Favourite Part of the Job: “Everyday is different, and doing something I love each day is really the best part of it all!”

Best Advice: The most beautiful people can rock any type of hair style or colour when it goes hand in hand with confidence!

Back to the Beginning

“I’ve loved doing hair since I was a teenager. I love the Beauty Industry, and love to make people feel good about themselves,” Frances explains. For both men and women, hair creates a statement, and Frances loves to help make those visions come to life! Before owning In the Chair Hairstudio, she was the owner of Halo Salon in South Windsor. This is where she gained a lot of valuable industry skills, including how to be a success, young female entrepreneur.

Working with Wedding Parties

Not only does Frances and her team provide a great place to go to go get your hair done on the Big Day, but for an additional cost, they will also come to you! This is such a convenient and deserved luxury for the Bride and her girls on the Big Day. Forget driving around town to get your hair done - relax, stay in your cute matching robes and sip mimosas as you are getting your hair done. What is Frances favourite part about working with wedding parties you may ask? “I love watching the excitement and joy on the Bride’s face that day! Hearing their stories, and watching them get ready is such a special moment. Being their hairstylist allows me to be such a special part of their day!”

Tips before the Big Day
If you are one to colour your hair on a regular basis, Frances recommends for you to get your hair coloured the week of the wedding. This allows you have a few days to let it sit and not be freshly done, but also ensures there is not time for the hair to grow out. “Hair is best managed when washed and blow-dryed the night before the wedding,” Frances advises, and adds that “products and hot tools are not needed because this can work against anything the stylist is trying to achieve on the Big Day.”

Do Brides Need a Trial?

Frances cannot stress enough how important scheduling a hair trial before the Big Day is. “With so much to plan for leading up to the wedding, choosing the right hairstyle to go perfectly with your dress may be difficult.” Frances goes on to say that Brides can then go home and try on their dress to see how they feel about the entire look. “Sometimes once everything is put together, it may not be exactly what you envisioned, and this gives time for tweaking.”

Frances and her team have certainly been a part of many special days for Brides in the Windsor-Essex area, and the passion they have for their work is very evident! Be sure to check out In The Chair HairStudio on Facebook, and follow along on Instagram for more hair inspiration and trends.
